Grace for your spirit
Then David's anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, "As the LORD lives, surely the man who has done this deserves to die. He must make restitution for the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and had no compassion." II Samuel 12:5-6
King David got hot quick over sheep rustling. He knew exactly what the penalty was for sheep stealing, and he wouldn’t put up with it. He had quickly forgotten about his actions of adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband. He didn’t remember the penalty for his sins, but he sure was clear about the sins of others. The story about the sheep stealing was actually a parable about his sorry life, and he walked right into it. It is great to know God’s will for the lives of others. May we remember the ones that apply to us as well.
