Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in the faith.... I Peter 5:8-9
If we spent the same amount of effort loving God, loving our neighbor, brother, and enemies, that we expend running from the devil, his power would be diminished in our lives. Our best defense against the devil is a great offense. As Romans 12:21 puts it, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Let's resolve to be firm in the faith.
