Grace for your spirit
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share. I Timothy 6:18
There is a traditional battle that takes place between most parents and children. Parents want their kids to work and do chores, while the kids want to get out of doing work and chores. Parents know that work develops a sense of responsibility, builds character, and teaches them a value of a dollar. Kids often think their parents only want to use them as slaves and make them miserable. If the kids win this battle, everyone loses. We see the same battle brewing in the family of God. Church leaders encourage God's children to be active and work in the vineyard of the Lord. Leaders know that work not only shows character, but builds Christian character. Too many "pew packers" are rebellious against this direction. They feel work is not necessary and they will be fine as they are. If this attitude prevails, everyone loses. May we all strive to be rich in good works, doing good, and ready to share.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit
