Grace for your spirit
So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. Matthew 6:2
Whenever we do something good for someone, are we only thinking about our reward? When we complete a service for God, is our goal only the praise we will receive right now? Jesus told us that when we receive all our rewards here, we forfeit the eternal repayments in heaven. We should all seek unselfish volunteer work in the name of the Lord. Work that pays us nothing now, nor brings any praise to us, will be rewarded eternally by God. There are already plenty of hypocrites in the churches and on the streets serving themselves. God needs unselfish dedication in His church and on His streets.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit
Philippians 4:23
