Grace for your spirit April 2, 2009

Grace for your spirit

For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,  Eph 2:14

Jesus came to earth to be a bridge builder, tearing down walls.  His death on the cross tore down the walls between God and his people, building a bridge of grace and faith.  The Jews and Gentiles both wanted walls, but Jesus knew they really need a bridge.  With His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus brought peace and created a new race.  No longer Jews or Gentiles, but a new man in Christ called Christians.  When we choose to follow Christ, we are to become like Him.  We need to build bridges for people; bridges to God and bridges to understanding among men.  God has left a stack of wood in our lives.  Will we use that wood to build a wall or a bridge?  As the song goes, “If we build a wall our world will be small, but a bridge of love will conquer all.”

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit

Philippians 4:23
