Grace for your spirit October 12, 2012

Grace for your spirit
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.  Proverbs 15:1

Every time we enter into a conversation, there is a potential to start a fire.  Politics, religion, and personal pet peeves, seem to top the fire building list, but almost any topic can start a fire.  We have the opportunity to take a bottle of water, or a bottle of gasoline to every fire.  Water settles down a fire, and gasoline causes an explosion.  We all have bottles of harsh and gentle words with us each day.  When we realize that wrath and anger does not accomplish the will of God, let's reach for the bottle of gentle.  The bottle of gentle will ultimately prove that we don't have to be the loudest when Jesus is living in us.  This may be a good "life verse" to note in the front of our Bibles.
