Grace for your spirit Octobeer 11, 2012

Grace for your spirit
But when Jesus heard this, He said, "This sickness is not to end in death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it."   John 11:4

In this story about Lazarus' sickness and death, we often miss the most important part of the story.  We see sickness, worry of relatives, anxiety of disciples, doubt of Pharisees, and the delay of Jesus responding.  We observe Lazarus' death, funeral, and burial, and all the mourning.  Jesus already told them how it would end.  Death would not be the end, and at the end the Son of God would be glorified.  The next time we are in the shadow of despair, may we remember that when we trust in Christ, the ultimate end of every event will be glory.  Let's write that down.  We may need to remember that.
