Grace for your spirit
Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. Romans 16:17-18
Satan dangles the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life in the faces of Christ’s children. The devil helps God’s children surrender as bond slaves of Jesus, and teaches them that they should serve their own appetites instead.. When anyone serves only their own appetites, everyone around them will suffer. Lives will be destroyed, families will be fractured, and dissension will plague the church. The hearts of the unsuspecting will be polluted by such division. May we not be naïve and allow our hearts to be deceived. Let’s be on guard at all times.
