But I am a worm and not a man, A reproach of men and despised by the people. Psalm 22:6

There are times in everyone’s life when we feel more like a worm than a man. We may have fallen short in some way from what God wants, of what we want, or what others expect of us. King David had many times when he felt that way with good cause. He also looked forward to the coming of Christ, realizing that even Jesus would be a reproach of men and despised by the people. Do we feel like worms? We need to remember is that a worm can end up as fish bait or transform into a beautiful butterfly. There used to be a song about Christ dying for such a worm as I. Did He? Yes, but even as a worm we can be beautifully transformed by Him.
