Grace for your spirit October 15, 2008

'Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, Revelation 3:17

The Devil wants us to be spiritually blind. He is happiest when we are walking in darkness. It is his goal to blind our eyes so we won’t see the truth and obey it. The ultimate spiritual blindness is when we think everyone is blind too. We think we can keep on talking about how well we are, when in fact it is obvious that we are in deep trouble. God knows it, our brethren know it, even the worldly know it. We will never be drawn to repentance when we think we need nothing. God wants to enlighten our eyes so we can see our wretched, miserable, poor, blind, naked selves. Then we will see His light and find true happiness.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit
Philippians 4:23
