For behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and lo, my sheaf rose up and also stood erect; and behold, your sheaves gathered around and bowed down to my sheaf." Then his brothers said to him, "Are you actually going to reign over us? Or are you really going to rule over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Gen 37:7-8
Joseph’s dreams got him in a lot of trouble. They were a prophecy of the future and his brothers didn’t like them one bit. As the favorite son of Jacob, the dreams brought about jealousy and hatred that eventually got him sold into slavery. How’s our attitude? When someone has a dream, a vision, or an idea, and we’re not in the middle of the glory, are we angry? Life is not always about us. We are not destined to be in the center of everything. In fact, the proper position is last. God will exalt us when the time is right, and when we are right.
