Grace for your spirit February 18, 2013

Grace for your spirit
Yet with respect to the promise of God, he did not waiver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was also able to perform.  Romans 4:20-21

The significance of Abraham in history began with his faith and trust in a God who he knew very little about.  God promises to him seemed crazy from a human standpoint.  God promised him when he was 75 years old that he would become the father of many nations and all the nations of the earth would be blessed by his family.  He never had his first child until he was nearly 100 years old.  God also gave him righteousness as a gift.  It all worked because he did not waiver, but grew stronger in faith everyday.  He gave glory to God believing that God could perform what He promised.  His standard of faith is our standard of faith when we walk in the steps of Jesus.  What about our faith?  Does it waiver? Is it stronger?  Is God glorified by it?  Trust is the key.  Let's reach for it.
