Grace for your spirit
For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. II Timothy 1:6-7
When a fire begins to diminish, and we want to get the fire going again quickly, we throw on some kindling wood. It catches quickly and keeps the fire going for the big logs. God has given us His gift of the Holy Spirit, and we all need it to be effective in our Christian walk. Have we check our fire lately? If we are becoming a little timid, our power to overcome, our love for others, and our discipline to do what is right has been weak lately, it is time to check the fire. Yes our fire needs attention. Let's rekindle it now before it goes out completely. We all have an manual of instructions to do that. It is the Bible.
