Grace for your spirit
On an appointed day Herod, having put on his royal apparel, took his seat on the rostrum and began delivering an address to them. The people kept crying out, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" Acts 12:21-22
Herod was a ruler in Israel, and his power and glory went to his head. The people flattered him for his royalty and power, so goodness would come to them instead of anger. A "god" was a title he could live with, or could he? While he was working against God's will, he himself was taking all the glory. That night he was stricken with worms and died. It was evident to the people that he was not a god, but just a man. The difference between Herod and God was, that God never thought he was Herod. May we never set ourselves up to be some sort of god. The long term results are always a disaster.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit
