Grace for your spirit
Into Your hand I commit my spirit; Psalm 31:5David was the anointed king of Israel. As he ran from one cave to another hiding from King Saul, it sure didn't seem like the life of a king. David called on God to be his rock, his fortress, and his strength in this time of need. He committed his spirit into the hands of God. A thousand years later, we see Jesus dying on a cross. It sure didn't seem like the life for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There are seven things that are recorded that Jesus said while dying on the cross. This was the last thing He uttered just before He died. "Into Your hand I commit my spirit." David trusted in the Lord and was ultimately crowned King of Israel. Jesus trusted in His Father in heaven, and was rewarded with a grand resurrection. In our days of distress, do we have the faith to commit our Spirit to our Eternal Father? God certainly has a victory for us when we do.
