Grace for your spirit June 5, 2009

Grace for your spirit

A constant dripping on a day of steady rain, and a contentious woman are alike; Prov 27:15

If you’re a preacher and having a hard time getting anyone to give you an “amen”, try this verse at a men’s meeting. It seems we are all ready to applaud any teaching that puts someone else in their place, but what about our part in the matter. If you have a contentious woman driving you nuts like a steady drip, or a rebellious man driving you up the wall, what is your part in the matter? Who helped them get that way? There is usually very little we can do to improve those in our lives, except by first improving ourselves. Want a better wife, be a better husband. Want a better husband, be a better wife. Want a better Christian family, be a better Christian. The constant dripping may stop before you know it. Let’s not move to the corner of the rooftop to avoid them. Rather, may we move closer that we might improve together.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit

Philippians 4:23
