Grace for your spirit
When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you in return and that will be your repayment. But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous." Luke 14:12-14
Did you know there is a big difference between fellowship and hospitality? They sound the same and we use them the same, but they are different. Fellowship is giving to those who can give to us. Hospitality is sharing with those who cannot repay. Is there any repayment for selfless hospitality? Yes, God pays it full. Fellowship fills up our earthly treasure chests. Hospitality fills our heavenly treasure. Fellowship is great, but let’s not stop with that.
Philippians 4:23
