Grace for your spirit 6-9-17

Grace for your spirit
Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord', will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.  Matthew 7:21

When we realize the will of the Father is centered in the cross of Christ, it eliminates all the other standards of obedience.  It is certainly more than "lip service" or rule keeping.  It is the total acceptance of Jesus as both Savior and Lord.  God's will is not a smorgasbord of selections on how we will do His will.  Let's make Jesus Christ and Lord.  Not just accepting salvation but also conforming to walk in His footsteps.

By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  Proverbs 24:3-4

When we want to build a house, we bring architects, and skilled craftsmen.  When we want to build a home, we need to bring God. God can instill wisdom, understanding, and knowledge and fill us with precious and pleasant riches that are everlasting. God.  Don't try to build a home without His plans.

Grace for your spirit
But now for a brief moment grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us an escaped remnant and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our bondage.  Ezra 9:8

Take a deep breath Ezra.  You've escaped, you're home, and God has given you a refuge in His Holy Place.  Be enlightened, and find a true revival.  We are more like Ezra than we might know.  We have escaped the corruption of the world in Christ, and God has given us a Holy Place in the body of Christ.  Although we are just a remnant, we need to seek enlightenment, and revival, while we can.  In this moment of grace, revive us again, O Lord.

Were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They were not ashamed at all.  They did not even know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall;  Jeremiah 6:15

How did God's holy people get into this state?  When the came into the promised land, God instructed them to rid themselves of the sinful element living there.  They did not. As they lived among the idolatrous  people, they started identifying with them.  Soon they were the same as the world they lived in. When we accept sin, as our view changes, we change.  It happened to them, and can certainly happen to us.  Let's come out and be separate and touch not the unclean things.

I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread.   Psalm 37:25

When our steps are established by the Lord, He holds our hand. Wherever He guides, He provides.  Before David rose to be king of all Israel, he had many rough days.  Those days taught him to stay with the Lord.  Too many come seeking the Lord just when they need something and often leave dissatisfied.  The righteous are not forsaken. When we walk with Him, we have joy for the journey and the destination.

But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ.  Ephesians 4:15

When we grow and mature in Christ, we will put away our childish behavior and stop being tossed around by trickery and scheming of men.  Our focus after being born again, is growing up into Christ.  The truth in love is our nourishment.  Let's seek the truth and speak the truth in love each day and enjoy the benefits of maturity.

But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us,  Titus  3:4

Sometimes people have a difficult time seeing God as kind and loving. Too often God is perceived as one who punishes with fire and brimstone.  Enter God in the flesh; Jesus Christ.  Jesus not only came to die on the cross for our sins, but also to allow us to see the kindness, compassion, and tender mercy of God.  He is not someone who is set to judge us, but rather He eager to save us.
