For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves. Luke 22:27
From the world's point of view, the people who have the chief seats at the table, are the greatest ones. As a child watching from the second table, I looked forward to the day I would be big enough, and important enough, to move to the big people's table. We didn't know that the greatest in the room were the ones who served. Jesus needed to teach that message repeatedly. Most of the principles of His Kingdom are just the opposite of what the world teaches. Indeed those who serve will be first, as Jesus showed us all.
