and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, and the tares are the sons of the evil one. Matthew 13:38
This parable shows us the reality of our gardens and the reality or our world. The good seed sown has a constant enemy; weeds. If we toil on, and the end of the season, the weeds will burn out and the good seed will bring us a good crop. God has great seed which he sows in us, but the devil has bad seed that is directed to choke us off and die. We know at the end of the age, the weeds will burn and the evil one is cast out. In the meantime, we are left to deal with the struggle. Our struggle is to overcome and be fruitful. With God's help, we can win that struggle.
