If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:3
Jesus spoke these words of comfort the night before He went to the cross. What did He mean? Some think He meant He was going to build Heaven and then return to bring us there. Perhaps the meaning was more immediate. When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, He prepared a place for us in His body. With our place in His kingdom, we have a special place in this world, and in Heaven eternally. God could speak Heaven into existence in a second, but it took the victory in Jesus to make a place for you and me.
