So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men, "Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?" John 4:28-29
The apostles were shocked when they saw who Jesus was talking to at the well that day. A woman, a Samaritan, and a sinner living in open adultery. Jesus extended His mercy to this women and ministered to her with the eternal waters of life. In the wake of that love, mercy, and ministry, she immediately rushed into the city to share that message with others. She was able to get over her shortcomings, and their judgmental attitudes to reach out to others. She brought the whole city out to see Jesus. When we experience the true mercy and ministry of Jesus, our response needs to be mercy and ministry for others too. Woe to the person who thinks they have come to Jesus without His mercy, the mercy of faithful men, and the ministry of many. Pass it on.
